Poll results: Allegri, Man City boss or Tottenham tactician? Chelsea fans split on next manager

Massimiliano Allegri could be another strong candidate for Arsenal

Earlier today, CaughtOffside asked our Twitter followers the following question:

With Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Jose Mourinho seemingly heading to Manchester United, who do Chelsea fans want as their manager next season? At the close of the polls, it was very tight!

Clearly Blues supporters are very split as to who they would like to see in their dugout next season, although 23% would be happy for interim boss Guus Hiddink to stay on beyond the summer.

The Dutchman has repeatedly stated that he has only returned to Stamford Bridge for the short term, so it is more than likely that Roman Abramovich will be looking for another new manager.

Massimiliano Allegri is the favourite with the bookmakers, and, just about, with the Chelsea fans as well. The Juventus head coach would be the pick of 29% of the 281 voters in our poll.

Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has strong support as well. Guardiola is taking his job at the end of the season, but could he move straight into another Premier League hotseat?

Tottenham Hotspur followers will be relieved that Mauricio Pochettino has less backing. The Argentine received nearly a quarter of the vote, and yet was still the least popular of the four choices.

So, if Chelsea fans had it their way, it would be Allegri going up against Guardiola and Mourinho next season. But, should the Italian keep captain John Terry? A poll for another time maybe…
