There’s no doubt that Mesut Ozil has earned the mini mid-season break that Arsene Wenger has granted him this week, he has been ‘assisting’ his teammates relentlessly this term after all…
But the number crunchers regarding have been hard at work lately and have given a startling insight into the man that will most likely shatter the Premier League assist record for a single season this year.
Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry currently holds the record with 20, and Ozil currently sits just four assists away from that number with 16.
And thanks to Opta statistician @Orbinho, they have proved that Ozil now has the best assists to minutes ratio of any player that has ever featured in the English top flight.
