Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was already unpopular at Old Trafford, with fans blasting his boring tactics.
But the angry Dutchman, who stormed out of his press conference earlier this week, has now risked the wrath of his players by cancelling Christmas.
According to The Sun, United’s players were left “stunned” after their annual ’12 days of Christmas’ panto performance was rubbed out of the diary to make way for extra training.
LVG has apparently arranged a last-minute session on Christmas morning and ordered his squad to check into a hotel in the afternoon, leaving United’s players with only a couple of hours to spend with their families on December 25.
Van Gaal can be forgiven for taking plans for his side’s trip to Stoke City very seriously. After all, numerous reports claim that he will be sacked if his side lose to the Potters.
United, who are winless in six games in all competitions, have taken just one point from their last two league games at the Britannia Stadium, where Stoke have already beaten Chelsea and Manchester City this season.
