Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are trying to keep up with Arsenal and Leicester City for the Premier League lead, but need a lot more scoring power to get there. Luckily, a player who might be able to give that to them appears to be available on a team far below them on the table: Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez.
According to the Metro, the Newcastle forward has confirmed that both Man United and the Spurs have expressed interest in him ahead of the January transfer window. However, Perez stated that he has no plans to leave Newcastle anytime soon.
Perez has scored four goals for Newcastle this season and added another seven last year. His career-high came in the 2013-14 season when he scored 16 times for his former club Tenerife in Segunda Division.
Newcastle United are hovering just above the relegation zone with 17 points but have allowed the second most goals in the league with 33 through the first half of the season.
Tottenham and Man United are currently fourth and fifth on the table respectively and are tied with Arsenal for the fewest goals allowed through 17 matches.
