Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has confirmed that he asked the PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi for a loan move away from the club this January.
The talented midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur understood to be keen on the elegant starlet. [Independent]
Rabiot is understood to have grown frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities for some time at the Parc des Princes, and was tipped for a move away from the club during the summer [Metro].
The 20-year-old has steadily grown as a first-team presence this season, and despite being sent off early in the campaign, has featured regularly in November and so far this month.
Nonetheless, speaking to Telefoot, as per Goal, the French youth star has revealed that he personally asked PSG chairman Al-Khelaifi for a loan move away from the club in January.
“I asked the president to be allowed to be loaned in January if I wasn’t getting enough game time,” the player revealed.
“It’s something that can’t refuse, I know he likes me a lot.”

Despite his recent run in the first team, it remains to be seen whether Rabiot is sated with his increased minutes, or whether he’s still hoping for a switch away from the French capital.
