Known for keeping his emotions in check at all times – on and off the pitch – it was certainly a surprise to see Diego Costa in a bad mood after being benched for Chelsea‘s 0-0 draw vs Tottenham Hotspur… not.
During a spell on the bench for Costa despite scoring the game-winning goal against Norwich City last week, the angry Spanish striker pulled off his bib and threw it in the direction of manager Jose Mourinho after realizing he would not be put onto the field for the entire match.
Costa and Mourinho reportedly had a spat on the sidelines during the club’s 4-0 win in the Champions League over Maccabi Tel-Aviv, and afterwards Mourinho criticized his star striker’s form.
Mourinho ended up playing Eden Hazard as the forward and starting Pedro at winger, but the change proved fruitless as Chelsea failed to get a goal against Tottenham, with the match resulting in a draw.
