Gareth Bale lookalike Kenny McEvoy has secured a loan move away from Tottenham Hotspur to York City, where he will stay until January.
While his doppelganger will be in action for Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, Mr. McEvoy is contemplating a more modest existence; a stint in League Two with the Minstermen.
McEvoy, now 21 but still to have made his debut in the Spurs first team, is a fairly unremarkable player. The Ireland U-21 international signed for Tottenham in 2011, and has since represented Peterborough United, Stevenage and Colchester United on temporary deals.
Indeed, perhaps the only thing that sets the midfielder apart is the fact that he looks uncannily like Bale; the same protruding jaw line, thick eyebrows and clean, if somewhat simian features.
As reported by Spurs’ official website in the latest Tottenham transfer news, the youngster—who has scored three goals in five appearances in the U-21 Premier League so far this term—will stay with York until at least January.
