Manchester United are reportedly considering offering Arjen Robben an escape route from Bayern Munich following the suggestion that the Dutch winger has fallen out with one of his teammates.
The Mirror report that Robben is unhappy with the Bavarian giants, and specifically, that he is ‘at war’ with Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.
The latter is understood to have made it clear to coach Pep Guardiola that he prefers to be supported by Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa in the wide roles, and that he finds Robben too selfish according to the Mirror.
This is an accusation that has been levelled at the Dutch winger in the past, with the former Chelsea regularly opting to cut inside and shoot rather than pass to a teammate or send in a cross for a centre-forward to meet.
With Lewandowski—the Bundesliga’s leading scorer—surely untouchable as Bayern’s centre-forward, it becomes hard to see how Robben could immediately return to the Bavarians’ starting lineup, and the Independent report that the Dutch veteran has ‘not reacted well’.

The tabloid note that this information has put United on red alert, with Louis van Gaal understood to be considering a reunion with a player he knows well.
United have been offensively unimpressive so far this season, with new additions Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay shining in spells without truly convincing, and 32-year-old Robben still possesses the experience and class to make a considerable different to the Red Devils’ offensive threat.
