With news that Karim Benzema was arrested this morning in connection to the blackmail of France teammate Mathieu Valbuena over an alleged sex tape, Gunners fans were pretty quick to jump on social media to give their thoughts on the matter.
Having been heavily linked with a move for the Real Madrid man over the summer, Arsenal fans provided some well timed comic relief on the matter.
As it stands, it is unclear what Benzema’s involvement in the case is, but he has become the second high profile player connected to it after police questioned former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse on his involvement.
@GFN_France @Benzema shoulda come to Arsenal mate. These things dont happen

Karim Benzema arrested. Somewhere, Arsene Wenger is convincing himself he was right all along not to get him.
— Manas Mitul (@ManasMitul) November 4, 2015
The reason we didn't sign Benzema is because Wenger travelled to the future and saw that Benzema was to be arrested.
