Manchester United have been put on high alert after reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is not intending to offer Cristiano Ronaldo a new contract to extend his stay, according to the Daily Mirror.
Last week the 30-year-old superstar said he wanted to finish his career with the La Liga giants, but it is claimed Perez will allow the forward to leave if an attractive offer comes in.
And furthermore, those reports claim that the Portuguese goal machine will be available on the market for a fee in the region of €100m (£73.6m).
Ronaldo is presently Real’s highest ever goalscorer, an accolade he achieved over the weekend when he notched his 324th strike in 310 appearances for the club during the victory over Levante.
Ronaldo was heavily linked with a return to United over the summer, only for the move to never get off the ground, but given these new developments he could well be on his way back within the year.
