Liverpool have set their sights on highly-rated Lazio defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia according to the Metro.
The experienced Argentine international is also said to interest Spanish giants Real Madrid and as such Jurgen Klopp faces a real fight to land the 29-year-old enforcer.
Klopp may feel his side needs fresh options in the centre of the park but will have been impressed by the recent showings of Lucas Leiva, though could be concerned about the Brazilian’s injury record.

Liverpool to make £23.5m offer for superb Italian international
29-year-old tough tackler Biglia left Anderlecht for the Stadio Olimpico in July 2013 and last term played a key role as the Rome based side secured a third place finish, the highest ranking in seven years, which helped Lazio to land a return to Champions League action, albeit they failed to negotiate a path to the group stage.
The £20m rated Lazio captain may not be keen on leaving mid-season, especially as Stefano Pioli’s side sit just three points off the top of Serie A, and it’s worth noting Biglia is also cup-tied from representing Liverpool in the Europa League.
