Derby County manager Paul Clement has confirmed that they are attempting to sign Manchester United star James Wilson, reports the Metro.
The 19-year-old would seem to be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after the arrival of Anthony Martial from AS Monaco. Wayne Rooney has been keeping the youngster out of the side already, and the France international will knock him even further down the pecking order.
The Rams could take him away from this situation, and offer him first team football in the Championship. The striker could do with extra game time to make sure he is able to develop in to the player that his potential promises.
“It is a possibility but not a certainty,” said Clement, “We have shown an interest. He is a very talented player and a number of other clubs have shown an interest as well. We are waiting to hear back from Manchester United.”
