Stamford Bridge search for strong defensive addition continues.
Chelsea have failed with two bids for PSG defender Marquinhos according to Sky Sports.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho has seen his defence perform in an unusually sloppy fashion this term with Chelsea having failed to keep a clean sheet thus far, conceding nine goals in four Premier League matches.
John Terry and Gary Cahill have both spent time out of Mourinho’s starting eleven and young Frenchman Kurt Zouma’s inclusion has hardly improved matters.
To top it all off right-back Branislav Ivanovic has endured a nightmare of epic proportions with the Serbian regularly being roasted by opposition wingers this term, most notably by Swansea City’s Jefferson Montero and Man City youngster Raheem Sterling.
