Stamford Bridge star wants move.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has reportedly undergone informal talks with Atletico Madrid over a return to the Vicente Calderon according to Spanish source Marca.

The 26-year-old is said to have spoken with Atletico Madrid owner Miguel Ángel Gil during a holiday trip to Ibiza and stated his desire to return to the La Liga side but a move to do so is currently obstructed by the presence of new striker signings Jackson Martinez and Luciano Vietto.

Diego Costa bagged 20 Premier League goals in his debut season at Stamford Bridge and played a key role in helping Jose Mourinho’s side to a domestic title triumph.

Mourinho would be loathe to lose Costa as the powerful forward is arguably his only world-class central striking weapon with bit-part player Loic Remy and fading star Radamel Falcao unlikely to be able to offer a strong alternative to the Brazilian born Spanish international, should he indeed secure a move back to Atletico Madrid.
