More and more money has been flooding in to the Premier League in recent years, helping it to keep its position as the richest league in the world.
However, not to many people will have thought that it was this rich. According to Sporting Intelligence there is not one, but two, clubs worth over £1 billion in the division, and a fair few that are on their way to the milestone.
The values of the sides has been worked out by Dr. Tom Markham, who has used one relatively simple formula to come up with the totals.
Namely, ‘club valuation= (revenue+net assets) x ((Net profit+revenue)/revenue) x (stadium capacity %)/ (wage ratio %)’.
