This is surely good news for Chelsea fans…
Manchester United are looking set to sell Jonny Evans to West Bromwich Albion for around £8m, meaning he won’t be moving to Everton as part of a swap deal for John Stones.
The Northern Ireland international had a poor season last term, and no longer looks part of Louis van Gaal’s first-team plans at Old Trafford, allowing him to leave on the cheap this summer.
However, he had been a top target for Everton to replaced Stones, initially making the Red Devils look the favourites to land the in-demand England international ahead of rivals Chelsea.
