Man United will look to complete the signings of Barcelona attacker Pedro and Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller before the summer transfer window closes according to the Daily Star.

Louis van Gaal’s Old Trafford side have secured two narrow 1-0 wins in their opening Premier League matches against Tottenham and Aston Villa and it would be fair to say that Man United have lacked a cutting edge in the final third and certainly could do with replacing Robin van Persie, who left for Fenerbahce earlier this summer.

Man United are close to securing a £22m deal to sign 28-year-old Spanish international Pedro, with chief executive Ed Woodward having flown to Barcelona to complete the deal.

Man United are also ready to step-up their pursuit of German international Thomas Muller following reports suggesting that the 25-year-old would be open to reuniting with van Gaal.

Van Gaal gave Muller his big break during his spell in charge at the Allianz Arena and the World Cup winner is said to enjoy a frosty relationship with current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola.

Both players are versatile experienced campaigners who can fill various roles across van Gaal’s preferred three man attack and Man United look keen to continue their summer spending with a spot in the Champion League group stage looking more certain following their 3-1 comeback win over Club Brugge on Tuesday night.
