Chelsea are set to respond to their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City at the weekend by bolstering their squad with at least three new players, according to Mirror Sport.
The Blues have been relatively quiet in the transfer market so far this summer as the only additions to the first-team picture have been goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and striker Radamel Falcao, but it appears their poor start to the season has prompted a reaction from the board at Stamford Bridge.
It’s understood a new central defender is at the top of manager Jose Mourinho’s wish list and a third bid for highly-rated Everton starlet John Stones is expected to be launched before the transfer window closes next month and that could throw John Terry’s future into further doubt after his half-time withdrawal at the Etihad Stadium.
The West London outfit are also thought to be in the market for a new central midfielder and an attack-minded player as Mourinho looks for a solution to his team’s early season slump.
