Emirates Stadium boss continues to push for Real Madrid striker deal.
Arsenal are ready to fork out £46m to land long-term target Karim Benzema and Italian reporter Emanuele Giulianelli states that Arsene Wenger is in constant contact with the Bernabeu star.

The Daily Mail stated last week that Arsene Wenger was readying a club record bid for the 27-year-old French international and after watching his Gunners side fail to net against West Ham on the opening weekend of the season, one imagines the Arsenal manager is as eager as ever to sign Benzema.
Olivier Giroud hasn’t provided nearly enough of a consistent goal-scoring option for Wenger during his three seasons at the Emirates Stadium and England flyer Theo Walcott isn’t reliable in front of goal, whilst Alexis Sanchez works far more effectively in his wide-role.

Arsenal have only made one summer signing thus far, the capture of Chelsea keeper Petr Cech, and have the funds to make a big offer for Benzema and one imagines that Rafa Benitez would only accept such an offer if it came early enough for him to then spend the cash on a new forward.
Benzema has scored 133 goals in six seasons at Real Madrid and has long been an Arsene Wenger target, dating back to the marksman’s time in Ligue 1.
