Everton are reportedly set to sign Man United centre-back Jonny Evans according to the Metro.
Roberto Martinez looks set to lose John Stones to Chelsea with the Stamford Bridge outfit set to make a third offer of around £30m for the England international and has subsequently targeted Old Trafford man Evans as a replacement for the young defender.
27-year-old Northern Irish international Evans is surplus to requirements at Man United and wasn’t even in Louis van Gaal’s squad to face Tottenham on the opening day of the season.
The experienced Man United man struggled for form last season and is now behind Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind and may well be ready to move to Goodison Park in order to re-ignite his flagging career.
