Benzema to Arsenal move edging closer to completion.
Officials will jet off to Spain today with the hope of bringing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to Arsenal in a £35m deal, according to latest reports.
The French international has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for much of the summer, and seems set to quit the Bernabeu after becoming surplus to requirements.
New manager Rafael Benitez seems ready to move Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale centrally this season, meaning Benzema would surely struggle for games, which seems to have persuaded him to join Arsenal instead.

According to the Metro, the deal could be finalised today as club officials travel to Spain to iron out the details of the move, which could end up being done on the cheap, rather than at the £45m initially expected.
