Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is set to request showdown talks with the club this week in a bid to step up his transfer away from Old Trafford this summer, Star Sport reports.
The Mexican is reportedly desperate to leave the Red Devils before the end of the transfer window as it appears he is not in United manager Louis van Gaal’s plans ahead of the new season and the 27-year-old is seeking regular first-team action this year.
Hernandez’ representatives want officials at Old Trafford to reduce the £12million asking price for the striker as they feel it could cause several clubs, including Barclays Premier League duo Tottenham and West Ham United, to withdraw their interest.
The reports also reveals that the ex-Real Madrid loanee, who is in the final year of his contract with the Red Devils, is willing to forgo bonus payments from the club in order increase the speed of his departure.
