Angel Di Maria is edging closer to completing his transfer to the reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain from Manchester United after being pictured arriving in Dubai ahead of a medical.
Various media outlets including BBC Sport reported over the weekend that a £44.5million fee had been agreed between the two European heavyweights for the Argentine winger, who is set to depart the Barclays Premier League after just one season where he produced mixed performances for the Old Trafford outfit.
Di Maria’s initial form after signing from La Liga giants Real Madrid last summer was encouraging as he found the back of the net on his home debut against Queens Park Rangers and then followed that up with a sensational effort against Leicester City a week later at the King Power Stadium.
However, his performances would decline soon after and he found himself behind the likes of Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Ashley Young in manager Louis van Gaal’s strongest XI towards the end of the 2014-15 campaign and judging by the image that emerged via social media on Sunday night, it’s a matter of time before Di Maria becomes an ex-United player.
