Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has set his sights on Napoli forward Jose Callejon with Fichajes (via the Metro) claiming the West London side are ready to offer £26m for the Serie A star.

The 28-year-old moved to the San Paolo after failing to make an impact at Real Madrid and the versatile attacker has proved a big hit in Naples.

Jose Callejon, who can play either out wide or in a central striking role, has netted 32 goals in two seasons at Napoli but saw his side fail to secure a Champions League berth for the coming campaign.

Mourinho saw his side ease to a Premier League title success but had to rely heavily on Eden Hazard to provide guile in the final third.

January signing Juan Cuadrado failed to impress when called upon whilst Willian, a regular in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven, managed just two goals and three assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

Jose Callejon is a very effective option who can fill a myriad of roles in attack and Fichajes (via the Metro) state that Chelsea’s push to bring in the Spanish international may be further aided by the fact that Rafa Benitez has left Napoli to take over at Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho knows Jose Callejon well from his time in charge at the Bernabeu and Fichajes (via the Metro) believe Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah could be used as a makeweight in part of any bid for the Napoli star.
