Manchester United star Angel Di Maria is keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain according to Argentina international teammate Javier Pastore, reports Le Parisien [via Daily Express].

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Ligue 1 champions, but a fee is yet to be agreed between the two sides [Sky Sports]. The situation has not been helped by the player going missing, which has angered manager Louis van Gaal [Daily Mirror]. The 63-year-old is now taking a hard line in negotiations, demanding £45 million for the winger he splurged £59.7 million on just last summer [BBC].

However, the former Real Madrid man’s desire to go to the French capital may force a move to go through. This will mean Laurent Blanc finally gets his man after missing out to United just a year ago [ESPN].

“He wants to come,” Pastore said, “I told him to join us. He is a very great player. Plus, he alone can win important matches. I told him to join us. He also asked me many questions about the club, the city and the way of life for his family.”

Di Maria managed a respectable 10 assists and four goals in 32 appearances for the Red Devils during his debut campaign. However, he still looks set for the exit door after becoming unsettled following an attempted break-in at his family home [Sky Sports].

The Premier League side won’t want to go in to the new season without a replacement for the forward though, and a couple of potential new options have been linked to the club.

Barcelona ace Pedro has been strongly linked [Daily Telegraph], as has Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan [Daily Express]. Both able to play on either wing, they could easily take over from the wantaway star.
