Manchester United‘s Victor Valdes has tweeted a message indicating that he is working hard to get ready for the coming season despite transfer speculation linking him with a move to Turkey.

“After a hard training session this morning, I am working hard for this season!” the stopper began, writing on his @1victorvaldes handle.

“Come on you Reds!!!!”

The social media message would appear to indicate that the stopper is planning for the coming campaign at Old Trafford.

However, it remains to be seen whether the 33-year-old will feature in the plans of Red Devils coach Louis van Gaal next season. The Dutch coach opted not to take the former Barcelona man with the first team on their pre-season tour of the United States, intensifying speculation that he is heading for the exit door at Old Trafford [Daily Star].

The veteran—who arrived at Old Trafford in the January transfer window—has been heavily linked with a move to the Super Lig, and Turkish side Antalyaspor [ESPN].

According to the Daily Mail, the keeper is unhappy with various aspects of life at the club, and particularly his lack of first-team opportunities, and may be considering his transfer options.

However, speaking to AS, the player’s agent Gines Carvajal has insisted that the stopper is keen to remain at Old Trafford and prove himself to the United fans.

”I’ve been contacted by a series of individuals from Turkey to negotiate a move for Victor. But I haven’t spoken with the president of the Turkish club in question,” the representative began.

“I don’t know him. I have no plans to talk with them again as my player has no interest in a move to Antalyaspor,” he continued.

“His only wishes are to remain at Manchester United and he has another year left on his contract.

“We don’t see any reason for him to leave the club. United are amongst the top two or three best teams in the world,” he concluded.
