Major breakthrough in Sterling to Man City saga.
Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of selling Raheem Sterling to Man City for around £45m this summer after a breakthrough in talks between the two clubs, the Daily Mail reports.
The England international has previously been the subject of two bids from City, with BBC Sport most recently claiming that a £40m offer had been rejected by the Reds.
However, it now looks like City have succeeded in persuading the Merseyside giants to let the 20-year-old leave, with the Mail explaining that the player looks like missing the club’s pre-season tour after news of this latest bid from last season’s Premier League runners-up.
Etihad Stadium sources have supposedly told Mail Sport that a deal is finally nearing completion, in what will undoubtedly go down as one of the most exciting transfer deals of the summer.

However, this will be a big blow for Liverpool, who look like selling Sterling to Man City just one year after losing another big name in Luis Suarez, who made the move to La Liga giants Barcelona following on from an outstanding season of individual performances.
With Brendan Rodgers’ side dropping out of the top four last season, it could be even harder to get the team back in amongst the main title contenders if Sterling also leaves, despite the club already sealing deals to bring in attacking midfield players like Roberto Firmino and James Milner this summer.
