Chelsea transfer news
Chelsea are hoping to sell out-of-favour winger Juan Cuadrado quickly this summer as they reportedly try to agree a fee with Atletico Madrid and other clubs, according to the Daily Star.
The Colombian international has not settled in the Premier League since moving to Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina in January, making only 12 appearances in the league and failing to score a single goal for the club so far.
This is despite some hugely impressive form during his time in Italy, which has also seen the likes of Juventus and AS Roma show an interest in his services this summer, the Star claims.
Still, the article suggests that, while Chelsea want to offload the player quickly, the Blues are unwilling to let Cuadrado leave on the cheap, with the club setting his asking price at around £24.5m as they do not want to make too much of a loss on what they paid for him in the winter, which the Star say was £26.5m.
Atletico recently sold Arda Turan to Barcelona and could do with new signings in the wide areas, with Cuadrado’s form during his time in Serie A suggesting that he could be a great buy for a team like Atletico, where he’d likely get more playing opportunities.
The 27-year-old has been unfortunate to find himself behind some big names in Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian at Chelsea, where other big names like Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne have recently been shipped out due to failing to break into the side.
