Mexico call Vela and Chicharito for summer tournament
Chicharito suffered a fractured collarbone after a fall in a friendly against Honduras last night.
It has now been confirmed that Hernandez will only be out for four weeks after undergoing surgery today, but that has ruled him out of the showpiece CONCACAF event.
Chicharito is officially out of the Gold Cup. Mexican federation have announced Javier “Chuletita” Orozco as his replacement.

It is a bitter blow for Mexico who will now have to play the tournament without their most recognisable star.
El Tri have called up Santos Laguna’s Javier Orozco in his place. The 27 year old has only won eleven caps for his country, and is yet to score his maiden goal.
His call up comes off the back of an excellent post-season. He scored four goals in his side’s 5-0 first leg win over Queretaro in the Liga MX final. Santos eventually took the title after a 5-3 aggregate win.
