Vidal to be sold to Arsenal for £21.2m so club can sign Manchester United target

The 33 year old will be brought in as Arsene Wenger seeks to improve on his current options between the sticks with neither Wojciech Szczesny nor David Ospina providing a consistent enough presence behind the Arsenal defence.

Arsenal will apparently also unveil Juventus playmaker Arturo Vidal as a new Gunners signing once the Copa America finals have been completed according to the Daily Star.

The 28 year old Chilean will set Arsenal back £21m and personal terms have already been agreed and Vidal looks set to join fellow countryman Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates Stadium.

Vidal has been a huge success in Italy, helping Juventus to four Serie A titles over the course of his four seasons in Turin, but arguably the cultured midfielder made less of an impact in 2014/15 than in previous campaigns.

Arsenal’s form in the second half of last season will have given Gunners fans some cause for optimism in 2015/16 and the capture of this pair would greatly aid the club’s push to clinch a domestic title.
