Manchester United transfer news
Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj is reportedly a target for Everton this summer in what would be an exciting move for the Toffees.
The Liverpool Echo claims Roberto Martinez wants to sign the Belgian midfielder, who emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents in 2013/14, though he failed to continue his development the following year.
The arrivals of players like Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria have pushed Januzaj down in the club’s pecking order, while this summer’s buy of Memphis Depay is also another threat to his place in the team.
United, meanwhile, were linked by the Daily Star earlier this month with a move to sign Everton striker and Januzaj’s Belgium team-mate Romelu Lukaku to bolster their options up front, a position that is more in need of strengthening due to a current lack of options at Old Trafford.
Although it has not yet been suggested, it may be that there would be potential for United and Everton to strike an interesting swap deal here, with Lukaku undoubtedly a top talent who should be playing for a bigger club.
Still, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will give up on Januzaj at this stage, with the the 20-year-old still highly thought of at the club.
