Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri has already brought Mario Mandzukic to Turin, and this could force the Spain international into leaving the club. The 30-year-old scored nine goals in 45 games last season, not exactly the form that can keep a player at a side which made it to the Champions League final.

However, despite this the Reds are interested in the striker to help solve their goalscoring problems. Manager Brendan Rodgers struggled to deal without Luis Suarez last season, and Daniel Sturridge’s injury troubles didn’t help the matter. Rickie Lambert, Fabio Borini, and Mario Balotelli all failed to impress at Anfield in the last campaign, and Llorente could at least bring some experience to the front line with his 157 career goals.

On the other hand there are other options out there for Rodgers.

The Daily Telegraph has linked them to a £25 million move for Aston Villa star Christian Benteke, and Sevilla front man Carlos Bacca’s agent has confirmed that the Reds are interested in his client according to the Liverpool Echo. Either of these players could be a better way to go than Llorente.

Whichever forward the Merseyside club bring in he could be their seventh signing of the summer. James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez, Adam Bogdan, and Roberto Firmino have already arrived, and the Liverpool Echo believes Southampton ace Nathaniel Clyne will complete a move in the coming week.
