Everton have been linked with a surprise move to bring former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic back to the Premier League this summer.
The Toffees could do with improvements at the back for next season, with some doubts over the future of talented youngster John Stones, who has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City.
Vidic, meanwhile, has had an up-and-down first season with Inter Milan in Serie A, and Italian souce SportMediaSet now claim he could be on his way back to England as Roberto Martinez shows an interest.
The Serbian centre-back, 33, was not at his best in his final season at Old Trafford, but could still make a decent signing for Everton on a short-term basis.
