City have been told that Pogba would cost £71m and with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid also courting the 22 year old the Premier League side have started to look for an alternative acquisition.
Manuel Pellegrini is said to be a big fan of 23-year-old England man Wilshere and the fact that the Arsenal star would boost the club’s ‘homegrown’ quota is another motivating factor but Arsenal’s £40m valuation may scare off Man City.
Wilshere struggled with form and fitness last season but returned with a bang in the final weeks of the season and his brace for England against Slovenia has once again highlighted the Arsenal star’s obvious abilities.
