With the news that Sepp Blatter has sensationally resigned from his post as FIFA president on Tuesday afternoon, there has been an overwhelming reaction on social media.

After winning the presidential election last week, Blatter was expected to serve as president for another four years, but has decided to step down presumably because of the negative reaction to his re-election.
This comes after the world of football was rocked with news that several executives of FIFA had been arrested on corruption charges (via BBC Sport)
Many football supporters were unanimous in their displeasure at the news and voiced concerns over what state FIFA would be in with Blatter in charge and even UEFA president Michel Platini had called for change (via Mirror Sport).
And with Blatter now deciding to do what is right for the future of the game and step-down, it has been met with celebratory messages from some on Twitter:
