Fans have been lining the streets despite some decidedly grim weather to see their team celebrating with an open top bus tour around the city. Supporters are unsurprisingly ecstatic at the Gunners’ efforts, with it being the second time in as many years that they have won the competition. This is after a gap of nearly decade from their last trophy in 2005.
They beat Aston Villa on the weekend to get the trophy, with goals from Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Per Mertesacker, and Olivier Giroud wrapping up a dominant 4-0 victory at Wembley. Their next challenge will be to get in to contention to win the Premier League. They came third this season, but were still 12 points behind champions Chelsea.
All of manager Arsene Wenger’s squad were there. Even those who played little or no part in the accomplishment such as Serge Gnabry, who has been injured for the majority of the campaign. Some looked like they were enjoying it more than others in the rain though!
