Liverpool rumours
The Spanish tactician, who spent six years in charge at Anfield earlier in his career, wants to raid his old club for one of its best players in the next transfer window as he begins his job at the Bernabeu.
Real parted company with boss Ancelotti this week, and Benitez is now the big favourite to take over from the Italian, with some transfer planning having already started for the summer ahead.
Sterling has been linked with Real in the past and would no doubt make a fine buy for the La Liga giants, who look in need of some changes after a difficult season which has finished trophyless.
According to the Daily Mirror, the England international is now being considered, and it may be that the Reds will be keen to sell him abroad instead of risking losing him to another Premier League club.
