The Premier League runners-up are in need of some serious strengthening in the middle of the park after a disappointing season, and now look set to go ahead with a stunning £85m move to sign Juventus’ Paul Pogba.
The French international has 10 goals and five assists this season as he continues to establish himself as one of the most talented young players in the world, as well as an all-round top performer in that central midfield role.
With strength, skill and an eye for goal, Pogba looks the ideal replacement for Yaya Toure at the Etihad Stadium, and according to The Sun, it seems likely that City will be his next destination.
Pogba is seemingly available for a £45m transfer fee, with the other £40m to go on funding his enormous wages of around £200,000 per week, though the Metro claims United may be ready to offer slightly more.
