Germany have called up highly-rated Premier League duo Serge Gnabry and Emre Can from Arsenal and Liverpool respectively for the Under-21 European Championships that starts next month.

Can has been one of the standout performers in a disappointing season for the Merseyside outfit, but struggled towards the end of the campaign after playing out of position as a right-back.
His performance during the 6-1 defeat against Stoke City on the final day of the season was widely criticised as his defensive error allowed Jonathan Walters to score and make it 3-0 after just 30 minutes at the Britannia Stadium.
Meanwhile, Gnabry has not played a single minute of first team football this year at the Emirates Stadium and will likely use the tournament to regain match sharpness ahead of next season.

The Germans have been drawn in Group A of the competition alongside Czech Republic, Denmark and Serbia and could potentially face their England counterparts in the semi-finals.
