The Argentine has finished as the top scorer in England this season, scoring 26 goals in 33 Premier League games, establishing himself as the best forward in the land ahead of big names such as Diego Costa and Harry Kane.

Aguero has played in La Liga before, starring as a youngster for Atletico Madrid prior to his big move to the Etihad Stadium, and it may now be that he will be making a return to the Spanish capital.

Real are known to be in the market for new players up front this summer, with doubts over the future of French front-man Karim Benzema and loan misfit Javier Hernandez.

According to AS, Aguero has become one of their main targets in an ambitious raid on last season’s champions.
