The Anfield club have been linked with the shot stopper since his excellent performances in last summer’s World Cup, but it now appears he won’t be making the move to the North West.
Ochoa only joined Malaga from French side Ajaccio last summer, but has failed to break into the first team all season, and is now set to move again.
Despite his lack of minutes at club level he is still Mexico’s number one and will take his place between the sticks in this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Liverpool were reportedly interested in a keeper all season, but Simon Mignolet’s upturn in form has diminished their needs.
Ochoa, 29, spent seven years at Club America before moving to Europe in 2011. He has 66 caps for the national side.
