Sterling’s future has been under increased scrutiny since that infamous interview with the BBC Sport back in April when he said that he wished to place talks over a new deal on hold until the end of the season, but it is now evident that the England international feels his future lies away from Merseyside.
The 20-year-old has two years left on his current deal but is understood to want to leave the club in order to pursue trophies elsewhere. Reds manager will be disappointed with this news as he already faces a huge summer in trying to rebuild the squad without departing captain Steven Gerrard.
Take a look at how those on Twitter have reacted to the news:

If Raheem Sterling thinks he’s been bullied he asked for it. Shankly would have torn him a new one. Whining little baby. Shift him ASAP. — Ellie (@Elena_in_Rome) May 18, 2015
