Tottenham Hotspur are poised to hijack Newcastle United and Stoke City’s loan bid for Barcelona wonder-kid Sandro Ramirez in the summer.

The young striker is struggling for minutes under boss Luis Enrique with little chance of any playing time while superstars Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi continue to star up front, and is being heavily linked with a loan spell in the Premier League next season.

Newcastle, according to Spanish media outlet Sport, had been close to sealing a season-long loan deal for the young Spaniard – provided the Magpies avoid relegation – but Spurs look set to scupper their hopes of landing the 19-year-old.

Ramirez joined Barca at just 14-years-old, and his fine performances for the club’s B side has encouraged Luis Enrique that the teen is ready for regular first-team football.

According to reports, the Spanish giants do not want the Spaniard to leave the Camp Nou permanently, as Enrique believes he could one day play an important role in the senior squad.

The Spain under-21 international has made seven senior appearances for Barcelona, scoring two goals, including a Champions League strike versus Ajax in October 2014.
