Di Maria has endured a difficult campaign since swapping Real Madrid for Old Trafford last summer. He was believed to be close to signing for PSG, according to Le 10 Sport, but the constraints of financial fair-play prevented Laurent Blanc from securing one of his preferred transfer targets.
Instead, the World Cup finalist joined United for a fee of €75 million.
However, it has been a difficult campaign; the winger has been derided by the United fans—both on social media and at the ground, and his future remains uncertain, with Louis van Gaal believed to be keen to offload the flop.
While PSG have been heavily linked with the player, respected French journalist Pierre Menes has advised United to look elsewhere.
Writing on his @PierreMenes handle, the Canal Football Club pundit had the following to say about the potential PSG recruit, via Le 10 Sport.
“Should Di Maria come to PSG this summer?” he began, “no, and I think that it’s a bad idea.
“Inconsistent, often injured…and expensive, far too expensive.”
