£2,500! Tickets for Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard’s final Anfield game on sale for whopping price
Goal.com report that Alves – whose future has been under intense speculation with his contract set to expire in the summer – will put to pen to paper over a new two-year deal in the coming weeks.
According to the Metro, Luis Enrique will therefore now allow Montoya to move on at the end of the season, and Liverpool view the 24-year-old as a direct replacement to Glen Johnson.
The right-back has won four trophies – two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España – and Rodgers believes the defender, despite aged just 24, could bring valuable experience to the Anfield dressing room.
