Liverpool are clear to sign soon-to-be free agent Danny Ings from Burnley in the summer transfer window, as Manchester United have declared they are not interested in signing the England under-21 international.
Reports earlier in the season claimed that Louis van Gaal would make a move for the out-of-contract striker at the end of the season. However, it seems the claims were untrue.

Manchester United could be short on attack next term – with Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie’s futures at Old Trafford uncertain beyond the close of the current campaign – but Ings isn’t on their transfer wish-list.
A senior Red Devils source told the Daily Star, “We have other targets in mind at this present time and this is not someone we are interested in.”
The news will please Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, as he can now look to wrap up a deal for the 22-year-old without competition from his fierce rivals.
Burnley’s relegation to the Championship, after just one season in the top flight, was confirmed at the weekend – with their victory over Hull City not enough to keep their slim hopes of survival alive.
As a result, Ings will almost certainly be moving on from the Clarets when his contract expires next month, and looks poised to stay put in the Premier League.
