The news was revealed via the FWA’s official Twitter page on Tuesday morning as they congratulated the Blues man for picking up the prestigious award for the first time in his career.

It has been a wonderful campaign for the 24-year-old as he has scored 14 league goals, including the winner against Crystal Palace two weeks ago that clinched a first Premier League title for the Blues in five years.
Hazard is also in the running to be named PFA Fans’ Player of the season which is announced two days after the final game of the season but he faces strong competition from the likes of his team-mate John Terry and Arsenal trio Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla.
