Chelsea transfer rumours

The 19 year-old Brazilian was one of the stars of the Under-17 World Cup in 2013, and was linked with a host of clubs since. He has now finally signed for Chelsea, but given that he has failed to impress upon graduating from youth level, it does appear a curious move.

“It’s difficult to see why [Chelsea] quite want to spend so much money on him,” said South American football expert Tim Vickery to talkSPORT (via Bleacher Report).

“He’s a playmaker who can thread a little pass and did well at under 17 level but poorly at under 20 level. It’s difficult to see what he has done in the last season to justify it.”
