The experienced German international may well be offloaded by Arsenal on a permanent basis and this source claims a £10m fee would be enough to land the 29 year old.
Whilst it’s true that Podolski hasn’t been in the best of form over the past 18 months it’s also true that the former Koln and Bayern Munich forward is a player with a proven pedigree, after all we are talking about a player with 123 national team caps to his name.
Arsene Wenger is unlikely to be able to accommodate Podolski in his first team set-up next term, with a host of players ahead of the World Cup winner in the Gunners pecking order.
One imagines the Magpies would have to retain their Premier League status to have any chance of luring Podolski to St James’ Park and with a few games to go this term that is by no means a forgone conclusion.
