The north London side would appear to have a fair few effective goal-scoring options at present and as such it’s hard to fathom why Arsene Wenger would be looking to bid big for one, let alone two, new forwards.
Arsenal have scored regularly and both Alexis Sanchez (16 Premier League goals) and Olivier Giroud (14 goals in 18 Premier League starts) have been in fine form and if Wenger is going to invest heavily in his Gunners squad one would imagine the French boss would be looking to other areas of his squad.
The Metro claim that Arsenal would offer £38m for Real Madrid’s Benzema and £30m for Aston Villa powerhouse Benteke.
Benzema had a fine campaign last term but has suffered with average form and fitness concerns this term whilst Benteke has experienced a real upturn in fortunes since Tim Sherwood took over at Villa Park.
